Exercise A :
4. (R) The basketball player tossed the ball into the hoop.
        I think the sentence is already right because it has had the subject and the verb.

Exercise B :
2. (R) The doctor gave the patient a prescription.
        Same as the before one, this sentence has already had the subject and the verb, so this one is right.

 TOEFL Exercise:
1. Mark Twain ___________ the years after the Civil War the "Gilded Age."
   A. called      B. he called       C. calling       D. his calls
I choose A, because I think the A option is the best answer. I don't choose the other option because the B option has a subject, and the sentence has already had a subject. For the C option, I guess it needs a to be, because it's a v-ing. And for D option, it just doesn't make any sense in my head.

 P.S. the blue colour is subject and the red colour is verb.
